Topic:
Where To Base Our Judgment (Part 2)
Continued from the last
episode-
This is a thing of the mind. The way and manner one patterns
his or her thought will overtime becomes what rules his state of being and
eventually affects his or her disposition in life. And the nature of a man
depicts the essence of his or her life. This is because whatever that forms his
or her perception gives his life the meaning others see. Now I said all of that
to say this, the foundation of every Christian is his or her believe in Jesus
Christ. So his or her life is rooted in his or her knowledge of Jesus Christ
and as a result whatever issues and challenges that come to him or her, he or
she sees them through the prism of Jesus Christ and by this knowledge of Christ
in him or her, he or she makes decision. As Christians we make decisions based
on what we know and have learn from Christ and this forms our bases in deciding
issues in life. While Christians see things differently from the way and manner
others see it; is because of their platform which is Christ.
What informs the bases and builds a stronger platform in
the life of the believer are the words of Christ which he or she hears. So
Apostle Paul while admonishing the Colossians said to them that they should “Let
the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing
one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your
hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16). This is important because the word of
Christ a believer hears unfolds into knowledge and builds his platform to be
stronger and the more of it he or she consumes with wisdom the more his or her
platform becomes stronger. So when situations crops up, he or she understands
that “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” (Psalms 119:89). The
parameter to take decision in his or her life is the word of Christ and for
sure, the word of God is forever settled and because of that, when storms and tempests
of this life arise, the believer cannot be moved because the word inside him or
her settles it and is final. Some wonder why in the situation the believer is
not going ‘gaga’ and running from pillar to post, but if they know better such
question should not arise because the believer knows what forms his or her
bases and it is stronger than the advents of any storm or blizzard.
No wonder Apostle Paul while instructing his child in the
Lord Pastor Timothy, he said to him that “For God hath not given us the spirit
of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7). So
the believer has been filled by the indwelling Spirit of God in him or her with
sound mind. That is to say the sense of judgment of the believer should always
be right and void of mistakes because He that powers his or her mind is perfect
and sound in decision making. The Holy Ghost through word of God establishes
the platform of the believer and whoever that inclines on the word of Christ,
the Word produces life and health to him or her (Proverbs 4:22).
