Welcome To The Arena Of Indubitable Truth! Topic: Life Beyond Miracles (Part One)

Topic: Life Beyond Miracles (Part One)

Preamble:

In the Christendom or Christian circuses there has much fuss generated by the word miracle(s) and as a result much emphasizes and particularisms have been place on it. And it is very particular in the sense that it has become a spectacular thing to romance in most Christian gatherings and the absence of it means the absence of God in the mind of many people. These days it seems that the validation of any Christian gathering as a spiritual gathering is that in that gathering miracle(s) took place. In other words, to many people miracle is what validates the authenticity of Christianity. In this series we are going to accentuate if miracle is the validator of Christianity or is it just part of Christianity and also, can Christianity still stand authentically without miracles?

Anchor Text:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

John 14:14
Text Of Interest:

“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.”

Psalms 103:7

The verse above which is my text of interest has placed emphasis on two categories of people. Moses on one hand and the people of Israel on the other hand and it goes on to state two important things God did to them. One He made known His ways to Moses and at the same He made known His acts to the children of Israel. This signifies that the acts of God and the ways of God are not the same, though both are coming from the same source. The ways of God takes preeminence over the acts of God because the ways of God are independent of the acts. In other words the ways of God can stand without the acts and the acts cannot stand without the ways. The ways therefore justifies the acts but the acts cannot justify the ways because it is a byproduct of the ways. Therefore, the byproduct is just like the taste of the pudding and not in any way the main dish.
I typed the word miracle on my system and my system suggests these words (wonder, phenomenon, marvel, sensation, vision and dream) as the meaning of it. Well, in the Church world, these words listed cannot be seen as totally suitable for their description of miracle because is way beyond what they think and know about miracle, though grammatically they can accept all of these words mentioned. Therefore, in the Church world miracle is seen as that divine intervention which obstructs a negative course on human in this earth to produce and project a better course in the life of whoever is concerned. That means miracle is divine or of the divine! I concur to this very definition because as humans, there are times some situations overwhelm an individual and it is done on him or her that the only way out of the situations is divine intervention. And really, when he or she leans on his or her divine connection; things turn around for good.
One can say therefore, that miracle(s) is needed or happens because of the presence of needs that should be met that is beyond the capacity of the individual at the center of the situation. Notice that in this context, the word situation or condition if you like is relative. It is relative in the sense that what one sees as a situation may not be a situation to another. Take for instance, if you are in need of a thing and know how to provide for yourself, you just go ahead and make provision, you don’t need a miracle. If you know how to heal yourself of a sickness you don’t need to ‘pray’ about the sickness. And if you know how you can always get yourself a meal, you don’t need a miracle for that, and someone who doesn’t have the withal on a serious note should pray and for sure, such prayers prayed in faith do get quick results.
The questions therefore are; do Christians actually need miracle? Is miracle the best they can obtain from God? Does God want them to be in need of miracle? And if one didn’t receive miracle does it disqualify the potency of God’s power to provide?
