Topic: Understanding The Three Adams (15)
Continued from last episode

Text of Interest:

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

                     1 Cor 2:9 – 10 (KJV)
Case Study Text:

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

1 Cor 15:45 – 47 (KJV)

All the things Jesus was saying to them look elusive as they continue to express their dejection because of the news of His departure from them. Jesus made them to understand that His departure from them will make them do the works that He does and even greater than because “He’s going to the Father. This particular greater than is not going to be miracles (works) because earlier before this time He has sent them out and they went and performed miracles and cast out devils. Therefore, this implies that there are things Jesus was unable to accomplish here on earth after He must have gone His believers will have the ability to do them. Whatever those things are, must be accomplished after He must have resurrected and we saw that on the Pentecost day. The power to do those thing rest on them and a different them was seen in action as they began to demonstrate the power of the Spirit of Truth. Jesus in His persuasive move gave them assurance that it is better that He go to the father and that if He doesn’t the comforter will not come. Jesus called Him another comforter which by implication another kind of Him (the Holy Ghost). That means if He doesn’t go; the Holy Ghost will not come to them. The word comforter here refers to (Grk Parakletos) a being that knows it all, someone who can give a perfect and suitable advice in the times of need. A comforter here is not like someone who can hug you and kiss you and say sorry to you in the days of trouble rather someone who knows how you can navigate through your situation and have solution at all times. Someone who knows how to give a soothing advice that reassures hope and victory in the thick of a pickled situation.
However, because their minds have not been regenerated, they were unable to comprehend all His expressions to them. He decided to hold on his communication to them, because they couldn’t flow in the realm He wanted to them to flow. They can only flow in this realm if their spirit is recreated and the only one that has the ability to do that is the comforter when He comes. Therefore, He said to them I have many thing to tell you but you cannot comprehend it now, however, when the Spirit of Truth comes He will let you know everything that you require to know (Jn 16:12 – 13). He went ahead to list the job of the comforter, that the comforter when He comes will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment, of sin because the world didn’t believe in Him, of righteousness because He has to go to the father and of judgment because the prince of this world is judged (Jn 16:8 – 11). Again He will guide them into all truth, which means they will never be in error and they will always have direction and He will take everything that is His and give them, the comforter will not come to promote Himself but Jesus (Jn16:13 - 14). This means He will explain better everything He said in chapter 14 up to after His resurrection and again because they have known Jesus physically but they will need the revelation of the Spirit of Truth to know Him after His resurrection which is not after flesh.(2Cor 5:16).
The name is the Spirit of Truth, which is a perfect indication that Jesus is really talking about another kind of Him, because He has earlier stated that He is the truth and the Spirit to come is the Spirit of Truth, meaning His Spirit (Jn 14:6). One of the quality or nature of this Spirit is that He will abide in the believers and will not be known by the world because the world will not know Him (Jn 14:17). Therefore, it implies that the Spirit of Truth will come and take residence in the body of the believers and as a result all His works will be done through the believers. The believers are therefore the carrier of this Spirit of Truth, so without the believers the Spirit of Truth cannot operate. The operation of the Spirit of Truth is amplified or limited by the knowledge of the believer(s), how much a believer knows about Him and His works and stirs it up will definitely depend on how much the world will see the Spirit of Truth in operation in the life of that believer.
In the same way Jesus came into the world and the world knew Him not also the Spirit of Truth comes and the world do not have any part in Him. But as many that believe in Jesus is given the opportunity to be possessed by the Spirit of Truth and they manifest Him to the world. Therefore, the manifestation of the Holy Ghost in the life of any believer is a sign and confirmation that He has received Jesus, because no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Spirit of Truth.
