Let’s Talk Vision – (Part One)
This is a citation from the book
“Know Your Identity In God”
The
kingdom you are born into (God’s Kingdom) is a mobile and dynamic Kingdom; it
is not a static Kingdom. The owner of the Kingdom existed in the past; He exists in the
present and will always exist in the future. Though God existed in the past,
and still exists in the present, He does not relish staying in the past. He is a
God that is carrying out plans and programs. Therefore, He does not dwell in
what has happened in the past, however glorious or inglorious it was. He is
marching forward in the future towards His plans, to make sure that they are
all rightly executed as He desires.
For
instance, God did not continue to be dismayed about what happened in the Garden
of Eden. The fall of man did not make Him to lose hope of accomplishing His
purpose for establishing the universe. Rather, He immediately dished out plans
that would be followed to counteract what happened, to which Satan and man was
instrumental.
Since
then, God has been following this plan notwithstanding the fluctuations as a
result of human weaknesses in the process. Being a God that has focus, He has
never been deterred or veered from following His visions.
Therefore,
it is better to say here that God can be described as a God
who, in His essence dwells more in the future than in the present and in the
past. This is because God's thought is embedded in the events of the future than the
present and even in the past. Notice that the past is timed and the present is
also timed but the future is timeless and God dwells in the future because He
is timeless. No wonder He created all things to exist in time and He's not existing in time, and whenever He invades time, time doesn’t matter again!
On
the other hand, it is apt to say that God doesn’t dwell in the glory of what He
did in the past. Rather, He is doing newer and greater things every day; and it
continues as the future proceeds without end. So our laxity and disappointment
cannot withhold God enough from marching forward. If anybody's attitude is
found gratuitous in the process, God beforehand prepares a lot of vessels to
fit into any process. Elijah should explain better to us when he thought he was
the only prophet left.
"Behold, I am doing a new
thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the
wilderness and rivers in the desert"
(Isaiah 43:19).
"The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;
great is thy faithfulness"
(Lamentation 3:22-23).
The
new things that we see God doing today were conceived in Him before the foundation of the earth, therefore, is not like God wakes up and starts doing things, and before these days He has abundant new things yet to
unfolded. These things are made possible because He is a God that works and
walks with vision. It will be interesting to know that God moves in vision, a
fact which makes Him a purposeful God, who has aims and objectives to
actualize.
Therefore,
as someone who has come to identify with God, you should as well possess this
quality, given that it will be a meaningless venture to come into Christ, or
better still to exist in Christ without visions that will spark activities with
God. For this reason(lack of vision), today, many are left behind in the things of God.
Certainly, God is looking for people with visions and not just visions but those
that are in line with His, so that He can work with them to actualize His
purpose(s). Surprisingly many are coming to Church and in the fold of Christ today only to pray and sing,
and then they go home expecting miracles to flood their homes. They do not have
any vision! If you desire miracles every day, have a vision, considering that
vision will definitely help to ingratiate you the attention you desire in the
sight of God.
It
is important for us to note this important factor, which is true about God.
Conceiving a vision that is in line with God's agenda can only be made possible
through intimacy with Him. This is because it is only such an intimacy that can
enable one to know God’s mind. Another
thing is that, the vision will be deposited in the form of a seed in a person's life and it
will germinate and operate in the scheme of things in the life of that person.
The germination of the seed will depend on many factors; which will of course
determine how quickly or slowly the germination process will be carried out.
If
the factors are positive (in line with God’s will) the vision will have a quick
process and materialization, but if the factors are negatively influenced
(outside God’s will), they will deter the seed from germinating on time, though
the vision is received from God.
