Welcome To The Arena Of Indubitable Truth! Topic: In Christ (Part 12) By Chukwuemeka C. Asiegbu Text Of Interest: “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Heb 12:22 – 24 (KJV) Immediately an unbeliever listened to the message of Christ and believed in it, a transaction has taken place. I mean a soul transaction has been made. The unbeliever who before this time exists in the kingdom of darkness is immediately transferred to the Kingdom of Light. The kingdom of light is the kingdom of righteousness. It is a domain rule by a King and the scepter or base of His leadership is righteousness. So the unbeliever comes into this Kingdom by faith through the belief he has in his heart and by confessing outwardly what he has believed in his heart,he is saved. Let’s see how Apostle Paul puts it in his epistle to the Romans “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Rom 10:8-10). The implication of the quotation above is that all the citizens of this Kingdom of righteousness are people who accepted the message of Christ who is the King of the Kingdom by faith and believed in their hearts and as they confessed with their tongues the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their life,they received salvation. This suggests that these people have accepted the fact that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus was for them. Therefore, they have accepted and identified that the death of Jesus was their death, His burial was their burial and His resurrection was their resurrection as a result confess Him as their savior. This is the only standard required to be in this Kingdom of righteousness and once this is met, the individual becomes a citizen of this Kingdom of righteousness. Let’s see what Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians about this “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” (Col 1:13-14). This process is called the redemptive process because the unbeliever was caged in the kingdom of darkness and for him to be delivered out of that cage; the message of Christ which is the message of salvation has to be preached to him. The message comes to him to offer him freedom and as he takes the bold step to accept it, a transfer is instantly made from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom light. Now what rules in the kingdom of darkness is death and sin, so anyone in the siege of the kingdom of darkness is ruled by sin and death, and it is called the law of sin and death “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Rom 8:2). The transfer of that individual from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light makes the law of sin and death to lose its potency over the life that individual because he is no longer under its rule (Rom 8:3-4). This is possible because the individual is now in a new Kingdom and as a result is guided and ruled by the rules of the Kingdom where he has been transferred to, which is the Kingdom of light. Of course, there is no way one can migrate from one kingdom to another and expect to be governed by the same rule where he or she migrated from. So the rules that are in control in the Kingdom of light take preeminence in the life of the individual consciously or unconsciously to the individual. The law that is in control in the Kingdom of light is called the law of Spirit of life in Christ (Rom 8:2). The activation of these laws does not need the permission of the individual in order to be in operation in his life because inasmuch as he has been transferred to the Kingdom of light automatic the law swings into operation in his life. However, it is possible for one to be in a kingdom and not knowing what the provision of the constitution says concerning him and as a matter of fact will not be able to accrue the benefits thereof. Therefore, because of his ignorance to this fact, he or she will continue to live as if he is still in the former kingdom where he was brought from. The only thing that will cure this deficit or shortcoming is knowledge, the knowledge of what the constitution of the Kingdom of Spirit of life has made available for him. And of course it shouldn’t stop at knowing the provision of the constitution but he should be bold enough to stretch his hand and take what has been made available. To be continued…..
